Gottlieb Klumpp

Gottlieb Klumpp (born January 7, 1829 in Schwarzenberg ; † February 7, 1918 in Gernsbach ) was a German forest owner , merchant and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Gottlieb Klumpp attended Latin schools in Württemberg , including Sulz . In 1852 he joined the timber business Katz & Klumpp in Gernsbach as a partner in Casimir Rudolf Katz , undertook extensive trips in this context and was one of the initiators of the Murg Valley Railway . After Casimir Rudolf Katz's death in 1880, Klumpp withdrew from the company, became a privateer and looked after his forest property. He applied for Katz's now vacant Reichstag mandate and won the by-election in June 1880. From 1880 to 1890 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Baden 9 ( Pforzheim , Durlach , Ettlingen , Gernsbach) and the National Liberal Party .

Klumpp was a local councilor in Gernsbach, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the railway and district council. In Gernsbach there is a Gottlieb-Klumpp-Strasse , in Baiersbronn- Schwarzenberg there is a Gottlieb-Klumpp-Weg .
