Gottlob Bünte , pseudonym Jann van Moor , (born November 15, 1840 in Bremen , † November 11, 1907 in Bremen) was a German innkeeper, folk writer and theater director.

biography

Bünte worked as a tobacco worker and foreman in Frankfurt am Main , Biebrich and Mainz . He also wrote folk plays . In 1866 the play Der Invalide von Königgrätz was performed in Frankfurt. In 1870 he opened in district in Bremen on Ostertorsteinweg no. 104 , an inn. Later he ran his inn in the Steintorviertel , on the corner of Vor dem Steintor No. 70 / Römerstrasse .

Bünte was an original from Bremen. At parties he recited his occasional poems . He wrote 88 folk plays in High and Low German on current and local topics. However, his pieces were not printed. He also appeared in his plays as a performer. Initially, his pieces were successfully performed in Tivoli am Weidedamm. After disputes, he founded his own Bremen Volkstheater , which was played every Monday in the winter months. Some Low German stories were published in 1888. His works were very popular at the time, but were forgotten.
