Thank God Christoph Jacob Fischer
Gottlob Christoph Jacob Fischer (born June 17, 1829 in Stuttgart ; † July 8, 1905 there ) was a German sculptor , history and portrait painter and lithographer .
Life
Before 1850, Fischer trained as a gold engraver in Stuttgart and then as a wood sculptor in Friedrich Georg Bienemann's studio . He was in Amsterdam around 1851/52. He continued his studies in sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts under Louis Royer . He then turned to painting, in addition he made lithographs and illustrations after French contemporary painters for Paris publishers. In 1853/54 he himself was in Paris, where he studied with Ary Scheffer . Fischer lived in the Netherlands from 1854 to 1857 and worked as a painter. From 1859 he was back in Stuttgart and received orders a. a. from the Württemberg royal couple.
