The Grünberg , also known as Grüner Berg , is a hill between the 13th Viennese district Hietzing and the 12th Viennese district Meidling .

location

Today it is accessed through the Grünbergstrasse running in north-south direction , a busy, 5-lane one-way and exit road in the south-west of Vienna, which connects the Wiental ( B 1 ) via Altmannsdorfer Strasse with the south-east bypass (A 23) or the south motorway (A 2) connects.

Surname

The mountain got its name from Josef Freiherr von Hagenmüller zu Grünberg , a court lawyer . Around 1790 he built several houses on the hill, which became known under the name Grünbergsiedlung .
