The stream rises on the southwest slope of the Jockelsberg near Seifhennersdorf and initially flows past the foot of the Quetsche in an easterly direction. At the Windmühlberg the brook turns to the southeast. At the Naturheilpark the Gründel flows into the populated cadastre of Seifhennersdorf, where it flows northeast of the Seifhennersdorf train station between the localities of Seifen and the Scheibe under the Mittelherwigsdorf – Varnsdorf – Eibau railway line . The Gründel flows into the Leutersdorfer Wasser at August-Förster-Strasse .
