The Green Blackberry Bandeule ( Ophiusa tirhaca , Syn .: Noctua tirrhaea ) is a butterfly from the family of the owl butterflies (Noctuidae), which is widespread in the Mediterranean area as far as the Southern Alps , but mainly in Australia and the subtropical regions of Asia .
features
The moths reach a wingspan of 50 to 65 millimeters. The forewings have a conspicuous bright light green or brown-green basic color. There is a brown band on the hem. The kidney blemishes are the same brown as the bandage, and there is a dark brown, triangular spot on the Costa Lader. The yellow hind wings have a dark brown transverse band.
The reddish-gray caterpillar is drawn dark.
Way of life
The moths fly in two generations from early March to late April and from early September to early November. The species came to Europe as an immigrant and inhabits warmer areas here, such as the Mediterranean .
