Grünental is a district in the Herbringhausen residential area in Wuppertal in the Langerfeld-Beyenburg district .

geography

Grünental lies on the edge of the Garschager Heide on Landesstraße 411 at 321  m above sea level. NHN on the ridge between the valleys of the Herbringhauser Bach and the Wupper . In the street village , state road 81 branches off from state road 411 in the direction of Radevormwald . At the intersection there is a memorial for the fallen soldiers of the Walbrecken and Frielinghausen districts .

To the east is the hamlet of In der Hardt , to the south is the Hinter der Cluse residential area , to the west is the Hofschaft In der Heye and to the north is the Spieckerlinde residential area .

history

In 1815/16 there were 20 people living in the village. In 1832 Grünental was still part of the Walbrecken Honschaft, which belonged to the mayor's office in Lüttringhausen . Which according to the statistics and topography of the district of Dusseldorf as Ackergut designated place was Grünenthal called and had at that time three houses and a farm building. At that time there were 20 people living in the village, two of them Catholic and 18 of the Protestant faith. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province from 1888, three houses with 34 inhabitants are given.
