Behind the cluse is a residential area in the Wuppertal residential quarter of Herbringhausen in the Langerfeld-Beyenburg district . The place is also referred to as Jägerhof on maps . The Wuppertal circular route crosses the town.

Behind the Cluse lies on the edge of the Garschager Heide on Landesstraße 411 at 324  m above sea level. NHN at the highest point of the ridge between the valleys of the Herbringhauser Bach and the Wupper . To the east are the hamlets In der Hardt and Frielinghausen , south of the residential area Cluse and north of the hamlet Grünental .

history

In the Middle Ages, Landesstraße 411 was part of the Cologne – Dortmund military route , an important medieval trade, pilgrimage and military route between the Rhine and Westphalia . On the eastern side of the state road in the parcel “ Im Galgenfeld ” was the execution site of the Beyenburg office . As a warning, travelers who entered the Beyenburg office on Altstrasse from the Bornefeld office were confronted with the bodies of the executed criminals directly at the office border. There is evidence that a body remained there over a period of nine years from 1597.
