Green growth

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Green growth is used to describe economic growth where natural resources are used sustainably. It is seen as an alternative concept to classic industrial economic growth and is intended to enable the green economy .

Green growth as a political strategy

Green growth is used to describe national or international strategies, for example as part of the economic recovery from the recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic .

Jobs

The report "Growth Within: A Circular Economy Vision for a Competitive Europe" predicts that there is a lot of potential in recycling , longer-lasting products and maintenance services from manufacturers .

According to the International Labor Organization , building a green economy could create 24 million new jobs worldwide by 2030 if the right steps are taken to achieve it. In addition, millions of jobs could be lost due to the rising average temperatures and the available working hours in agriculture would be reduced as a result.

According to a 2020 report by Green Alliance, the most economically valuable new jobs would be in the following areas: building retrofitting, cycle path construction, followed by electric ferries, battery factories and reforestation stations. New investments in nature restoration could also create ten thousand new jobs in a short period of time.
