Gražina Ručytė-Landsbergienė

Gražina Ručytė-Landsbergienė (born January 28, 1930 in Anykščiai ) is a Lithuanian pianist, music teacher and professor at the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy .

Life

Gražina Ručytė-Landsbergienė attended the Anykščiai grammar school after primary school in the Anykščiai monastery until 1945. From 1945 to 1948 she graduated from the Panevėžys Girls' High School . From 1948 to 1949 she studied at the Kaunas Conservatory .

In 1949 Ručytė was deported to Siberia , where she remained until 1957. From 1954 to 1957 she studied at the Sverdlovsk Conservatory and from 1957 to 1959 graduated from Lietuvos valstybinė konservatorija in the class of Balys Dvarionas . From 1962 to 1966 she taught at the Vilniaus pedagoginis institutas and from 1989 at the Lietuvos muzikos akademija . She was a lecturer and then a professor .

Her father was Pranas Ručys (1893–1980), entrepreneur, deported from 1949–1958. Her mother was Agnietė Putilaitė-Ručienė (1904–1976), a dairy worker, deported from 1949–1958. Her brother was Vytautas Ručys (1923–1986), an emigrant and farmer. Her sisters are Ona Ručytė-Jakulienė (* 1933 m.), Deportee, worker and Elvyra Ručytė-Cinauskienė (* 1938), deportee. Her second brother was Antanas Rimvydas Ručys (1936–1987), deportee, geologist.

Gražina Ručytė is married. Her husband is Vytautas Landsbergis (* 1932), musicologist and politician. Her children are Birutė Landsbergytė-Cechanavičienė (* 1960), musicologist, and Vytautas V. Landsbergis (* 1962), director, author. Her grandson is the politician Gabrielius Landsbergis (* 1982).
