The Juozas Gruodis Conservatory Kaunas (lit. Kauno Juozo Gruodžio konservatorija ) is a middle school and music school in Kaunas , Lithuania . The founder is the Ministry of Education of Lithuania .

history

In 1919 Juozas Naujalis founded a private music school. In October 1920 it was nationalized and named Valstybės Muzikos mokykla . Until 1933 it was Kaunas Music School. In 1933, on the initiative of Juozas Gruodis, a music college , Kauno konservatorija, was founded . The course lasted six to eight years. In 1933 there were 262 students. In 1948 the name was given by Juozas Gruodis. In 1949 the LTSR konservatorija was established from Kauno konservatorija and Vilniaus konservatorija .

At the conservatory taught Vytautas Bacevičius , Kazimieras Viktoras Banaitis , Alfonsas Baužinskas , Jonas Bendorius , Povilas Berkavičius , Balys Dvarionas , Vladislava Grigaitienė-Polovinskaitė , Juozas Gruodis (1884-1948), vladas jakubėnas , Aleksandras Kačanauskas , Jurgis Karnavičius , Alberta Köhelikas, Oreste Marini , Petras Oleka , Vladimiras Ružickis , Jonas Švedas , Juozas Tallat-Kelpša .
