Grahanandan Singh

Grahanandan Singh ( Panjabi ਗ੍ਰਹਾਨੰਦਾਂ ਸਿੰਘ ; born February 18, 1926 in Lyallpur ; † December 7, 2014 in New Delhi ) was an Indian hockey player . He won two Olympic gold medals and played at the Olympic Games in London in 1948 and in Helsinki in 1952 in the victorious Indian team .

The striker first gained notoriety when he was accepted into the hockey team at college in Lahore . Until 1946 he was a member of the university selection. In 1944 and 1945 he was a member of the Punjab selection, later he was a member of the Bengali selection. From 1951 to 1955, as well as from 1957 to 1958, Singh took part in the selection of the Indian Navy.

Singh was a member of the Indian Navy and rose to the rank of Commander. He lived in New Delhi.
