Grain (Schwandorf)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Grain was part of the former community of Neukirchen , which was incorporated into the large district town of Schwandorf on May 1, 1978 . Only since September 8, 1969, the official spelling grain has been in effect. Older documents and maps usually identify the location as a Krain or Crain.

history

Weiler Grain, OT Schwandorf

In 1818 Grain was assigned to the Ettmannsdorf tax district. The tax lists at the time name five families. With the final dissolution of the land and civil jurisdiction in 1848, the Spiering patrimonial court Fronberg-Ettmannsdorf-Haselbach was also repealed. With this, the last of the three original properties was subordinated to the Burglengenfeld district court . The connection with Haselbach can probably be traced back to a former leasehold (roaster farm) of the Lobkowitz princes .

The district road (today district road) from Schwandorf to Vilshofen has passed Grain within sight since 1842. It was not until 1962 that the road connecting Grain to the district road was paved.

In 1973 the hamlet had 34 inhabitants.
