Location of Büchelkühn in Bavaria

Büchelkühn is a district of the town of Schwandorf in the district of Schwandorf ( Upper Palatinate ). The place is south of the city on the Naab , a little west of federal highway 15 .

history

The spelling of this place changed constantly until the official spelling finally became binding. In the period between 1210 and 1220 it was called Puechili , 1210 then Puochelschinde , approx. 1270 Puchelkinden , 1326 Puocheschinde , 1378 Püchelkindt , 1503 Puechelkinnd (sample book) and 1614 Büchlkindt .

Its origin can be inferred from the spelling. Therefore, as the founder of Büchelkühn, one can adopt the children of a Buochilo , even if not those Wendish tribal princes. According to historical sources, the founding family seems to have died out early. In the year 1210, a Sibot von Puochelschinden appears as a witness in a document from the Ensdorf monastery ; but in the land register from around 1235 Büchelkühn is already mentioned as a ducal property.

On the map by Christoph Vogel from 1600, the scope of today's location, the required forest and the arable land are already drawn. The forest is indicated as Büchelkühner Gemein , i.e. municipal property. It was not only used for wood and litter, but also as pasture. As the population grew, the land in the three-field economy was cultivated : winter fields, summer fields and fallow land , a form of economy that was still more relaxed a hundred years ago. By 1700 this form was already broken; because in the tax description from 1727 it is expressly noted that the parcels can no longer be specified according to Winter- and Sommerzell, as they are built upon one another.

The place was incorporated into the district town of Schwandorf on May 1, 1978 together with the municipality of Dachelhofen to which it belonged.
