Gran Madre di Dio (Latin Titulum Praecelsae Dei Matris ) is a titular church in Rome .

The parish was established with the decree Ouo perennius by Cardinal Vicar Francesco Marchetti Selvaggiani on December 1, 1933. The commissioned by Pope Pius XI. commissioned a new church in 1931, based on a design by the architect Cesare Bazzani, was inaugurated on May 29, 1937 by Curia Bishop Francesco Beretti .

On February 5, 1965, the elevation to the title church of the Roman Catholic Church by Pope Paul VI took place. Namesake is Mother of God (Mater Dei) .

The neoclassical church building is one of Rome's great modern domed churches. The church welcomes the visitor with a main entrance, designed with a portico with a triangular gable supported on two columns with Corinthian capitals and side columns. The semicircular apse has five arched windows above which the inscription SANCTA MARIA MATER DEI ORA PRO NOBIS (Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us) is set in a ring beam. In the apse is a fresco by the painter Federico Morgante. Main materials are a pink brick and travertine.

The church is located on the Ponte Milvio on the right bank of the Tiber in Via Cassia 1 in the Roman district of Della Vittoria .
