Under the breed name Grand Anglo-Français leading FCI three French breeds ( FCI group 6, section 1.1, standard no. 322, 323 and 324 ).

The three "Great Anglo-French" belong to the hounds and differ in the color of their fur. Each of these three color combinations is recognized as a separate breed of dog. These dogs were created by crossing old French hound breeds with English foxhounds . They are used as pack dogs in drag hunts .

  • Grand anglo-français tricolore (322): Large Anglo-French tricolor hound , arose from the crossing of Foxhounds and Poitevins . The height at the withers is 70 cm. He inherited size and color from the foxhound, while the head shape is reminiscent of the Poitevin.
  • Grand anglo-français blanc et noir (323): Large Anglo-French white-black hound . The ancestors are the Foxhound, as well as Grand Bleu de Gascogne and Grand Gascon Saintongeois , height at withers 72 cm.
  • Grand anglo-français blanc et orange (324): Large Anglo-French white-orange hound , bred from Foxhound and Billys

What they all have in common is a height at the withers of up to 72 cm and a weight of around 35 kg. The fur is short and hard. The medium-length pendulous ears are set at eye level.
