Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas

The Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas was a large, internationally touring ballet company based in Monte Carlo from 1943 to 1962 and was considered a representative of classical ballet . The choreographies represented traditional forms in ballet.

George Zoritch was considered a star . Andrée Marlière was a soloist in 1959. Tatiana Riabouchinska danced ballerina as a guest . Marcia Haydée and Germinal Casado began their careers in this ensemble. Bronislawa Nijinska became the ballet master of the Grand Ballet du Marquis de Cuevas in 1945 .

Famous choreographers were, for example, George Balanchine , Marius Petipa , George Skibine and John Taras .

The company gave highly successful and momentous guest performances on September 27, 1954 as part of the Berliner Festwochen and on September 30, 1954 in Paris .
