Grand Candy is the largest Armenian confectionery manufacturer with a share of the Armenian confectionery market of over 40%. As such, the company claims to be the largest food producer in Armenia and the only South Caucasian processor of cocoa beans . The company's headquarters are in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia .

history

Company founder Vardanyan (2009)

The company was founded at the beginning of 2000 by the Armenian entrepreneur Hrant Wardanjan (1949–2014) with initially 600 employees. After setting up another production line, production was solid candy ( hard candy ) on chocolate expanded and now on a range of about 100 products. Grand Candy also set up its first branded stores in 2000. In 2001, ice cream production was added. The company has been producing its own corrugated cardboard packaging since 2006 and has had its own offset printing facility equipped with German technology since 2007 . In 2008 the company started its own coffee production with the coffee varieties Arabica and Robusta . In 2010 the range was expanded to include pastries . The company's own production of flour began in 2012. A separate print shop for the flexographic printing process was added in 2016, which was also equipped with German technology. By 2019 the product range expanded to over 400 products.

Logistics and distribution

According to its own information, the company has 270 trucks , eight regional warehouses and 29 branded stores in its own wholesale and retail network (as of 2019) . 21 of these branded stores are located in Yerevan, ten of which have their own integrated cafes. The trade network supplies a total of 8450 stores in the Armenian wholesale and retail trade, with almost all food stores in Armenia being supplied by the company.

quality control

The company's production conforms to the quality management standard of ISO 9001: 2008 and the ISO 22000: 2005 certificate. The company's analysis laboratory is ISO 17025 certified. Only "natural" ingredients are used.

Trivia

On September 10, 2010, the company set a world record with the production of the largest chocolate bar to date, which was also the first industrial record in Armenia.
