The Grand River is a right tributary of the Missouri River in South Dakota in the USA . Its length is 177 km.
The Grand River is formed by the confluence of the North Fork (129 km long, coming from North Dakota ) and the South Fork (145 km long) near the town of Shadehill in Perkins County in South Dakota and not far from the Grand River National Grassland .
The river then flows east through the Standing Rock Indian reservation and emptied into the Missouri before the establishment of the reservoir Lake Oahe at Mobridgein . Due to the backwater of the Missouri, the confluence with the reservoir is already about 15 kilometers west of the city.
