The Grand prix catholique de littérature is a publisher-independent French Catholic literary prize , which is awarded by the Association of French-speaking Catholic Writers ( Association des écrivains catholiques de langue française ) founded in 1886 .

The prize was founded in 1945 as the Prix ​​du Renouveau français by the writers Jacques Maritain , Jacques Madaule and others. As a rule, an award ceremony takes place in spring; the amount of the prize money is variable. The awarding jury consists of members of the Association of French-speaking Catholic Writers.
