from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

GraphicMail is a product of Interinbox SA and is one of the international e-mail marketing service providers. GraphicMail is a self-service provider for email, mobile and social media marketing. The web-hosted software has been developed for users who want to create commercial newsletters without HTML knowledge. The user can log in online and design their own newsletter campaigns.

history

The company was originally founded under the name "Quattro Web Solutions" by Paul Honig, Nick Eckert and Ernie Retrief in 2001 in Cape Town, South Africa. The actual purpose of the company was to develop and sell a content management system . It was not until 2003 that the GraphicMail email marketing software developed from this. This was later expanded to include mobile and social media marketing . In 2008 GraphicMail entered the e-marketing market in the DA-CH region with a German version of the software . In 2011 the company "Quattro Web Solutions" moved its headquarters to Geneva and changed its name to "Interinbox SA". As of October 2012, around 40,000 customers worldwide were using the GraphicMail software.

The company's growth strategy is implemented in the form of a franchise system, which means that the service is now available in 20 countries (Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia , Spain, South Africa, Czech Republic, Turkey, USA) and 11 different languages.

Structure and properties

With the help of the GraphicMail software, companies can independently design and send their newsletters based on templates and access extensive statistics on delivery. For mobile marketing, the user can use the software to design pages that are specially tailored to mobile devices . In addition, newsletters can be shared by recipients in social networks and the range can be increased in this way. This enables the implementation of integrated email, mobile and social media campaigns. Since the newsletters are hosted and sent by the GraphicMail servers , the company pursues an anti-spam policy that enables high deliverability of the newsletters. All email addresses and the content of the newsletter are checked for SPAM content using a specially developed algorithm . In addition to the verification by the company, every dispatch contains an unsubscribe or abuse function through which the recipient can unsubscribe or report abuse directly to GraphicMail. In the event of clear misuse, the sender's account will be blocked without notice.

GraphicMail is free to a limited extent and with a maximum of 500 e-mails sent per month. The entire package is chargeable, the price is based on the shipment quantity or frequency.

Range of functions

Contact generation

The GraphicMail software enables the creation and integration of a registration form in websites, blogs or social networks. With the browser widget , the newsletter can be shared, commented on and forwarded via social networks. With the help of the built-in single and double opt-in function , the customer can build a clean list. A single opt-in is when a user explicitly registers for a newsletter (e.g. using a registration form) without this email address being verified. In the case of a double opt-in, registration alone is not sufficient. Here the user has to confirm his email address by activating a verification link. This prevents recipients from being registered by third parties without their knowledge.

Contact management

GraphicMail enables the user to create individual data sets with up to 20 variables. The relevant customer data can be recorded here, starting with the first and last name, date of birth and personal interests. Existing customer data can be imported into the software's address book in the form of an Excel or CSV file in order to then manage or segment it. The service also includes a duplicate comparison (elimination of duplicate e-mail addresses), a list cleaning tool (elimination of invalid e-mail addresses before sending) and automatic bounce management . So-called hard bounces, i.e. email addresses that cannot be delivered due to invalidity, are automatically blocked for future mailings. Soft bounces are temporarily unavailable e-mail addresses to which, however, future mailings will continue to be sent.

Creation of newsletters and mobile websites

With the help of a WYSIWYG editor, newsletters can be created and edited either using numerous HTML templates or from scratch. Users can either work in WYSIWYG or HTML mode. A number of functions are available that enable structure, text, color and image adjustment. The basic functions also include personalization based on the specified data records. The content can also be made available to contacts in social networks in real time . Mobile pages are created with a separate editor. A link to the created mobile website is then sent via SMS.

shipping

Various test options are available before shipping. The correct presentation of the newsletter can be checked with the preview function, the test dispatch and the detailed preview, which calculates the presentation of the newsletter in all major e-mail clients . In an A / B split test , two different newsletter variants are sent to a percentage of the distribution list before being sent in bulk. The newsletter with the higher open rate is automatically sent to the rest of the distribution list.

GraphicMail also offers the ability to send so-called automated e-mails, which are automatically sent to previously defined recipients in the event of a previously defined action. For example, a customer who signs up for a newsletter will automatically receive a welcome email.

Success measurement

After sending their campaigns, GraphicMail users can call up detailed statistics on the delivery and interaction of the recipient with the newsletter. These include delivery, opening and forwarding rates , subscription and unsubscription rates, publication rates and click rates . The latter show how often built-in links were clicked in a newsletter.
