The Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary is a 219  acres (0.9  square kilometers ) wide reserve in Wareham in the state of Massachusetts of the United States . It is administered by the Massachusetts Audubon Society .

Protected area

The reserve is located directly on Buzzards Bay and is registered with almost its entire extent as a very important habitat for endangered species in Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Audubon Society is therefore working with other organizations and private individuals to continue to preserve this area. However, only the areas under her care are accessible, through which a total of 4  mi (6.4  km ) of hiking trails lead along old cart paths and deer crossing . Great horned owls , ospreys and herons are particularly common .
