Greg Kogan

Gregory "Greg" Kogan (* 1947 ; † 2019 ) was an American jazz musician ( piano , keyboards , organ ).

Kogan worked in the New York jazz scene from the 1970s a. a. with Howard McGhee , Buddy Rich ( Big Band Machine , 1975), Lionel Hampton , Woody Herman , Sonny Fortune , Elvin Jones , David Fathead Newman and in the Joe Morello Quartet ( Morello Standard Time , 1994) with Ralph LaLama and Gary Mazzaroppi . In the field of jazz he was involved in 11 recording sessions between 1975 and 2010, according to Tom Lord . a. with Michael Moss and The Four Rivers, Joe Carroll , with Bill Kirchner Nonet ( What It Is to Be Frank ) and most recently with Mac Gollehon ( Mac Straight Ahead ). He performed in New York clubs in the 1990s, including in 1994 with the Ron Oldrich Quartet and as a soloist.
