Gregory Mark Logins Junior (born March 16, 1988 in Sodus , New York ) is an American basketball player . Logins was born in Sodus, New York, to Greg Logins Sr. and Shirley Jackson. He played college basketball with the Canisius Golden Griffins.

Academic career

He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise and health and a master's degree in sports administration from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York State.

High School & Prep School

Logins' basketball career began with the Sodus Spartans (2003-2006), which he helped to both a league and a New York State championship title in 2005. He was elected to the "NYS First Team" in his junior year. In his senior year at high school, he helped the team to the league title again and was voted Player of the Week 15 times. Another award was the nomination to participate in the Rochester-McDonald-Allstar-Game, in which he set the record for the most rebounds in a game (25).

In his year at Kent Prep School in Connecticut (2006-2007) he was named Player of the Year and was placed on the New England top 50 list.

Time in the NCAA

Logins Junior played basketball with the Canisius Golden Griffins in the first NCAA division from 2007 to 2011 and played an average of 10.3 points and 6.2 rebounds in just under 23 minutes as team captain in 123 missions. In addition to awards for his academic achievements, he placed himself among the top five of the eternal rebounder list (758 collected ricochets) of his university team and cracked the 1000 point mark (1269).

Professional career

The American began his career as a professional basketball player in 2011 with the Barreteros de Zacatecas in Mexico (10 games / 7.5 points per round), which he left for Morocco in 2012 (RST Tangier / 1st division). In the summer of 2012, Logins Jr. then hired Lappeenrannan NMKY in the Finnish Korisliiga. In his two seasons for the first division club from South Karelia on the border with Russia, Greg averaged 17.0 and 15.6 points per game. After a short interlude in Japan at Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka, the forward moved to Finland again. He laced his shoes in a total of ten games for Espoon Honka in 2015 , in which he averaged 12.0 points per encounter.

In July 2015, the Niners Chemnitz Logins reported as a new addition. In the ProA 2015/16 , the variable winger was one of the top performers in Saxony and scored 12.0 points per game in an average of 31 minutes. He was voted one of the ten best ProA players of the season by the specialist portal eurobasket.com . In the playoffs, the Chemnitz team failed in the quarter-finals with 3-0 victories at Science City Jena . In the three games against the Thuringians, the American got an average of 8.3 points per encounter. No further engagement with the second division came about in the following year and so Logins spent the 2016/17 season in Argentina (Club Ciclista Olimpico / 1st division - a total of 5 matches / 4.8 points per game) and Israel ( Ramat HaScharon / 2nd division ).

In 2017 Greg moved back to Germany and was supposed to support Hamburg Towers in their plan to advance to the basketball league . The Towers, plagued by a serious injury misery, not only missed the promotion, but also the playoffs in the ProA 2017/18 . As an important rotation player for the Hamburg team, Logins achieved an average of 8.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per match. Via the FOG Næstved team (Denmark / 1st league), for whom he marked an average of 9.8 points per match, the forward continued at Bayer Giants Leverkusen . According to head coach Hansi Gnad , the German record champions required logins because of his "great experience and strengths from outside the three-point line". The American injured himself so badly during a preparation game for the Rhinelander that he was out for around six months. At the end of February 2020, the Giants parted ways with Logins. March 2020 signed him to the Luxembourg second division BBC Bascharage Hedgehogs , for whom he played three more matches before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic . In May 2020, Logins extended his contract in the duchy for another season.
