Greg Mansell
Greg Mansell (born November 8, 1987 on the Isle of Man ) is a British car and cyclist . He is a son of Formula 1 world champion Nigel Mansell and the younger brother of racing driver Leo Mansell .
Career
Greg Mansell began his motorsport career in 2005 together with his brother Leo in karting . In 2006 the two switched to the British Formula BMW . Greg Mansell was 14th in the overall standings and, unlike his brother, scored points. After the two brothers had already competed as guest drivers in a race in the British Formula 3 Championship in 2006 , they both drove in this series for Fortec Motorsport in 2007 . Greg Mansell achieved three third places and thus finished tenth overall at the end of the season and was only one place behind Sebastian Hohenthal , who also competed for Fortec Motorsport. He clearly distanced his brother Leo, who ended up 17th.
In 2008 Greg and Leo Mansell left Europe and competed in Formula Atlantic for the Walker Racing team . While Greg Mansell finished tenth in the overall standings with several placements among the top ten drivers at the end of the season, Leo, who was 19th, had to admit defeat to his younger brother again. In 2009 Greg Mansell returned to Europe in the World Series by Renault and competed for the first time in a different racing series than his brother. Starting for Ultimate Motorsport , he was mostly inferior to his teammate Miguel Molina and was 26th in the overall standings at the end of the season. He started for Comtec Racing on the last race weekend , as Ultimate Motorsport had withdrawn before the end of the season. He also competed in a Formula Atlantic race and with his father in the Silverstone 1000 km race of the Le Mans Series .
In 2010 , Mansell contested his second season in the World Series by Renault for Comtec Racing as a team-mate of Monegasque Stefano Coletti . While Coletti was sixth, he finished 15th overall at the end of the season. He and his brother Leo also contested a full season of the Le Mans Series for their father Nigel's team . Nigel Mansell also actively supported the two sons as drivers in some of the series' runs and in the 2010 Le Mans 24-hour race .
In 2011 Mansell left formula racing and switched to GT racing. Together with his brother Leo he competes for Lotus Italia Scuderia Giudici in the new Blancpain Endurance Series .

Greg Mansell is also active as a cyclist. At the Island Games 2011 he won the silver medal in the criterion for Jersey . He has been riding for the British Continental Team UK Youth Cycling since 2012 .
