Gregor Rippel

Anton Gregor Rippel (also Gregorius Rippel ; born June 10, 1681 in Schlettstadt ; † January 6, 1729 in Fessenheim ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and theologian .

Life

Rippel's life has only been passed on in parts. He attended the Jesuit college in his hometown and completed theological studies there. In 1700 he entered the Jesuit order and remained there until 1715. When he was ordained priest is unknown. He first worked as a professor at the school in Schlettstadt, then at the school in Molsheim .

From 1719 at the latest, Rippel ceased his teaching profession and turned to pastoral care . In 1719 he took over the parish of Fessenheim and also looked after the parish of Nordheim . This is also the time in which he now appeared as a writer. In 1725 he was also prebender in Strasbourg .
