Gregor von Sengbusch
Gregor von Sengbusch (* 1823 ; † probably January 3, 1878 in Orenburg ) was a German-Baltic officer in Russian service.
Life
Gregor von Sengbusch was the son of the Russian captain Johann Alexander von Sengbusch . The father was a pawn owner at Essenhof and Winkelmannshof in Livonia . He became an officer in the service of the Imperial Russian Army. First as a colonel , he was Chief of Staff of the Orenburg Cossack Army from 1864 to 1875 . In 1869 he was promoted to major general . From 1875 until his death he was governor in Orenburg and ataman of the Orenburg Cossacks . From 1870 to 1878 he was President of the Council of Churches of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orenburg.
