Gregory Nelson (born January 31, 1988 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch football player with origins from Suriname .

Career

Nelson began his career in the youth teams of WMS Vlissingenund and AZ Alkmaar, among others . From the latter club he was brought into the first team in 2007. The winger made his debut in the top Dutch division on September 30, 2007 against Heracles Almelo , when he came on for Mounir El Hamdaoui in the 66th minute . This was his only game that season. AZ finished eleventh in the league at the end of the season. After he was not used until January 2009, he moved to RBC Roosendaal , where 16th place in the second division was reached. The following season Nelson was eleventh with Roosendaal.

The Dutchman then moved to Bulgaria and signed with CSKA Sofia . There he made his debut at European club level. In the qualifier for the Europa League as part of the play-offs against The New Saints FC from Wales on August 19, 2010, Nelson played from the 64th minute and scored the interim 2-0 in a 3-0 home win. From 2012 to 2015 he played with Metalurh Donetsk in the Ukrainian Premjer-Liha .
