Gresham is located in eastern Nebraska about 17 km east of US Highway 81 . The Interstate 80 runs in about 28 km to the south.
history
The place was founded in 1887 by the Pioneer Town Site Company . It was believed that the Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley Railroad , which was traveling west through York County, would lay tracks at this point. The namesake was the statesman Walter Q. Gresham . The rails actually reached the place that same winter. The first school house was built in 1888. In 1900 the Woman's Club opened the library, which has been run on a voluntary basis since the beginning.
