Gretli Fuchs

Gretli Fuchs (born January 26, 1917 in Oldenburg ; † June 20, 1995 in Passau ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Live and act

She began her studies in Frankfurt am Main at the Städelschule and from 1940 attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart with Hermann Mayrhofer . In 1944 the graphics class was relocated to Passau-Oberhaus and Fuchs moved her place of residence there. In 1945 she met Franz Xaver Spann and Alfred Kubin and was accepted into the association of freelance artists. She was also a member of the Innviertel Artists Guild .

Awards

In 1950 she won the poster competition for the Katholikentag in Passau, in 1977 she received the Villa La Collina scholarship from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation , in 1989 the cultural letter of honor from the city of Passau and in 2000 a street in Passau was named after her.
