Griesbach is a district of the city of Zwiesel in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen .

location

Griesbach is located about one and a half kilometers southeast of Zwiesel.

history

A document issued by the Niederaltaich monastery on September 12, 1356 , in which the parish of Regen was demarcated from the new parish of Frauenau , mentions the villages of "Lintperg" ( Lindberg ), "Griespach" (Griesbach), "Clauczenpach" ( Klautzenbach ) and "Fladnicz" ( Flanitz ). With regard to pastoral care, these places should belong to the parish of Regen or to the church in Zwiesel, which is vicarious from it.

Later Griesbach formed its own chairman and was subordinate to the regional court of Zwiesel. This went on in 1803 in the enlarged Regen district court. When it was subdivided into 27 tax districts in 1808, Griesbach came to the Flanitz tax district. The cadastre from this year shows Griesbach as a village with 10 properties.

When the community was formed in 1813, Griesbach joined the rural community of Flanitz. In 1821 the Bärnzell , Zwieselberg and Griesbach communities were formed, to which the hamlet of Glasberg was later added. As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Bärnzell including Griesbach was incorporated into the city of Zwiesel on May 1, 1978.
