The village of Flanitz is part of the community of Frauenau in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen .

It is located about two kilometers northwest of Frauenau on a saddle area west above the Flanitz valley .
history
Flädnitz was first mentioned in a document in 1356. It is a foundation of the Niederaltaich monastery and its Rinchnach provost . In 1717 Flanitz was first recorded in the hearth description with 14 farms.
In the year of conscription in 1752, Flanitz formed a chairman in the regional court of Zwiesel and, when the tax districts were formed in 1808, a tax district. This comprised the chairmanship of Flanitz, Griesbach and part of the chairmanship of Frauenau. The place Flanitz consisted of 15 properties this year.
In 1813 Flanitz was planned as an independent rural community , which should include the places Flanitz, Zell, Althütte , Lüfteneck, Reifberg and Griesbach. When the communities were finally determined with the edict of 1821 , however, Flanitz became part of the Unterfrauenau community. At the beginning of the First World War it had 315 inhabitants. Efforts to set up their own school were unsuccessful. At the 1987 census, Flanitz had 151 inhabitants.

- Village chapel. It was built in 1840. The two figures of St. Nicholas and St. Wolfgang come from the 18th century.
