Grigorios Aggelidis (born August 19, 1965 in Hanover ) is a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ) of Greek origin. In the 2017 federal election he won a mandate on the Lower Saxony state list and has been a member of the German Bundestag since October 2017.

Life

education and profession

Grigorios Aggelidis was born in the Hanover region in 1965. He grew up there as the son of a worker and a retailer, and spent part of his childhood in Greece. From 1971 to 1974 he attended school in Greece, after which he returned to Germany. After graduating from high school in 1986 and a subsequent banking apprenticeship at Dresdner Bank AG, Aggelidis worked in finance.

Today Aggelidis is among other things co-owner of an independent Hamburg asset management company. Aggelidis is married and has two children. He lives in a district of Neustadt am Rübenberge .

MP and party activity

Aggelidis has been a member of the Free Democrats since 2012.

The state assembly of representatives of the Lower Saxony FDP elected Aggelidis in March 2017 to the third list place for the federal election 2017 . In addition Aggelidis candidate in the parliamentary constituency Hannover-Land I . In the federal elections, the FDP in Lower Saxony won 9.3 percent of the second vote, including Aggelidis in the 19th German Bundestag . In his constituency, he came third with 10.5 percent after Hendrik Hoppenstedt (CDU, 34.8 percent) and Caren Marks (SPD, 27 percent). Aggelidis was also elected deputy chairman of the local FDP association in Neustadt am Rübenberge.

He is senior citizen and family policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group, as well as a full member of the committee for family, senior citizens, women and youth , the committee for the environment, nature conservation and nuclear safety and the subcommittee "civic engagement". He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Federal Agency for Civic Education and chairman of the Federal Family Committee of the FDP. Aggelidis is vice chairman of the German-Greek parliamentary group.

Family policy

Aggelidis developed the Free Democrats' child opportunity allowance . Seniors

As the senior political spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group , Aggelidis deals with all senior policy issues. Relief for volunteer work
