Grimaldi Order

The Grimaldi Order was on November 18, 1950 by Prince Rainier III. Donated by Monaco as a reward for the services rendered personally to the Prince and his family and is given to nationals and foreigners as a token of his respect.

Order classes

The order consists of five classes:

Order decoration

The medal is a white enameled golden Leopold cross with small golden balls on the tips, which is carried by a crown . In the medallion you can see a galloping knight with the coat of arms of the Grimaldis. All around the inscription RAINIER GRIMALDI PRINCE DE MONACO (Rainier Grimaldi, Prince of Monaco). On the reverse the year 1950 and all around PRINCIPAUTE DE MONACO (Principality of Monaco).

Carrying method

The Grand Cross is carried with a sash from the left shoulder to the right hip and with a silver breast star made up of sixteen rhombuses. Grand officers wear the breast star and a neck medal , commanders only wear the same. Officers and knights on a ribbon on the left chest. Officers also have a rosette on the ribbon . The decoration for knights is made of silver .

On special occasions, the grand cross is also worn on a gold collar .

The ribbon is white with narrow red side stripes.
