Edwin C. Johnson
Edwin Carl Johnson (born January 1, 1884 in Scandia , Republic County , Kansas , † May 30, 1970 in Denver , Colorado ) was an American politician ( Democratic Party ) and the 25th and 33rd governor of the state of Colorado.
Johnson was born in Kansas in 1884. In the same year, he and his parents moved to Nebraska and settled on a cattle ranch near the town of Elsie. Johnson moved to Colorado . From 1923 to 1931 he was a member of the State House of Representatives , after which he held the office of vice governor from 1931 to 1933 . Johnson subsequently moved to the governorate and was governor of Colorado from 1933 to 1937 and from 1955 to 1957 . Between his two terms as governor, Johnson represented Colorado in the United States Senate from 1937 to 1955 .
