Erastus Harper

Erastus R. Harper (born July 14, 1854 in Michigan , †  May 12, 1927 in Denver , Colorado ) was an American politician . Between 1907 and 1909 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado.

Career

The sources on Erastus Harper are not very rich. He was born in Michigan and lived for a time in Akron in the state of Ohio . He later came to Colorado, where he worked in the mining industry. Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party . In 1906 he was elected lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado on the side of Henry Augustus Buchtel . He held this office between 1907 and 1909. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate .

In 1915, Harper was appointed State Insurance Commissioner ; between 1919 and 1924 he served as the State Commissioner for Budget and Efficiency ( Budget and Efficiency Commissioner ). He died in Denver on May 12, 1927.
