Donna Lynne (born October 27, 1953 in Jacksonville , Florida ) is an American politician . From 2016 to 2019, she was lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado .

Career

Donna Lynne studied at the University of New Hampshire , George Washington University and Columbia University . Her fields of study included public administration and health care. She worked for the New York City government for 20 years . She later worked for Kaiser Permanente health insurance . In Colorado, she became a member of several regional organizations. So she was among other things chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Denver .

Politically, she joined the Democratic Party . After the resignation of Lieutenant Governor Joseph A. Garcia , she was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper as his successor. After confirmation by the parliamentary bodies of the state of Colorado, she was able to take up her new office on May 12, 2016. She became the governor's deputy. She also holds the position of Chief Operating Officer of Colorado, a senior position in government. Her term of office ended on January 8, 2019, and Dianne Primavera became her successor.
