Frank L. Hays

Frank L. Hays (born January 6, 1922 in Denver , Colorado , †  January 25, 2003 there ) was an American politician . Between 1957 and 1959 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado.

Career

Nothing is known about Frank Hays' youth and school education. But he must have studied law. During the Second World War he served in the Air Corps of the US Armed Forces. After the war he practiced as a lawyer. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1951 and 1957 he was a member of the Colorado House of Representatives . In 1955 and 1957 he headed the Republican parliamentary group there. In July 1952 he took part as a delegate at the Republican National Convention in Chicago , where Dwight D. Eisenhower was nominated as a presidential candidate.

In 1956, Hays was elected lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado alongside Stephen McNichols . He held this office between 1957 and 1959. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . After the end of his time as Lieutenant Governor, he worked as a lobbyist. He died in Denver on January 25, 2003.
