Gail Schoettler

Gail Sinton Schoettler (born October 21, 1943 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American politician . Between 1995 and 1999 she was lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado .

Life

Gail Schoettler studied economics at Stanford University and history at the University of California at Santa Barbara . Politically, she joined the Democratic Party . From 1985 to 1995 she was the State Treasurer of Colorado.

In 1995 Schoettler succeeded Samuel H. Cassidy as the new lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado. She held this office until 1999, when she was Deputy Governor Roy Romer . In August 1996, she took part as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago , on which President Bill Clinton was nominated for re-election. In 1998 she ran for the office of governor of Colorado, but was defeated by Republican Bill Owens . Between 1999 and 2001 she was the American representative at the World Radiocommunication Conference .

Today, Gail Schoettler CEO of Fischer Imaging Corp. and director of CancerVax Corporation and Aspen Bio, Inc . She also writes articles for The Denver Post newspaper . She was awarded the French Legion of Honor.
