Joe Rogers

Joseph Bernard "Joe" Rogers (born July 8, 1964 in Omaha , Nebraska , †  October 7, 2013 in Denver , Colorado ) was an American politician . Between 1999 and 2003 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado.

Career

In his youth, Joe Rogers moved with his mother to Colorado, where he studied at Colorado State University . After studying law at Arizona State University and being admitted to the bar, he began to work in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . In 1996 he ran for Congress , but was defeated by the Democrat Diana DeGette .

In 1998, Rogers was elected lieutenant governor of the state of Colorado alongside Bill Owens . He held this office between 1999 and 2003. He was Deputy Governor . Personal and political disagreements with Owens resulted in his not standing for another candidacy in 2002. Instead, he ran unsuccessfully in the Republican primary for the US House of Representatives . Joe Rogers died in Denver on October 7, 2013.
