Georges Grenu
Georges Grenu (born June 1925 in Tourcoing ; † July 23, 2013 in Blois ) was a French jazz saxophonist (also flute and clarinet).

Grenu first played the clarinet at the age of 13; In 1943 he began to work as a musician. He served in the 1st Régiment d'Infanterie in Bourges during the Second World War before joining the Maquis against the German occupation in Aubigny-sur-Nere (Cher) . In the post-war period he played in jazz orchestras in northern France and Belgium before moving to Paris in 1946. There he played in the orchestra of Fernand Clare , then with Aimé Barelli and Jacques Hélian , with whom the recordings were made. Grenu has also appeared in the Moulin Rouge in Paris and in Cabaret Nouvelle Eve , as well as a musician on television and films such as J'irai cracher sur vos tombes (with Alain Goraguer , 1959) and in L'eau à la Bouche (1960). He replaced Bobby Jaspar in the Jazz Groupe de Paris to André Hodeir (album Le Jazz Groupe de Paris joue André Hodeir , 1956). From 1987 he lived in Cagnes-sur-Mer , where he played with Roger Guérin ; In 2007 he moved to Saint-Aignan (Loir-et-Cher) . He performed with his own quintet at the Jazz Club de Tours .
