The Großer Medower See is located in the Sternberg lake landscape , southeast of Goldberg in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and has an oval shape that tapers towards the east. The body of water is located in the silting area of the Große Plage and shares a basin with Lake Goldberger See and Lake Woosten . The lake shore is mostly unforested and swampy. The eponymous Goldberg district Medow is not far southwest of the lake. The federal highway 192 and the railway line of the disused Wismar-Karow line run north of the lakepast the shore. The lake is very shallow, the deepest points are about 1.5 meters.
