The diameter is in the range between 10 and 20 cm. The color spectrum of the large vase sponge ranges from shades of brown to pink, with the opening usually being white. It has a deeply furrowed and hard surface. A wide variety of organisms, such as lobsters, shrimps or sea cucumbers, can settle within the sponge.
