Grand Mufti of Albania
Grand Mufti of Albania ( Albanian Kryemyftiu ) was the name for the Mufti who was responsible for leading the supreme religious office of the Muslims of Albania . The office was abolished in 2014.
The official seat of the Grand Mufti was the capital Tirana . Until then, the Grand Mufti was also the chairman of the Sunni Muslim Community of Albania , which was founded in 1920. Since then, the Muslim Community of Albania has been led by a chairman.
During the communist dictatorship, the activities of the Mufti office were strictly regulated and monitored, after the Socialist People's Republic of Albania was proclaimed the first atheist state in the world in 1967, the muftiate was abolished under dictator Enver Hoxha . Only in 1991 it was in the Lead Mosque of Shkodra rebuilt.

- Behexhet Shapati , from 1929 to 1942
- Hafiz Sherif Lëngu , from 1942 to 1945
- Hafiz Musa Ali Basha , from 1945 to 1954
- Hafiz Sulejman Myrta , from 1954 to 1966
- Esat Myftija , from 1966 to 1967
- Haxhi Hafiz Sabri Koçi , from 1991 to 2004
- Haxhi Selim Muça , from 2004 to 2014
