description

Grave 1 (2020)

Grave 1

The complex has a north-east-south-west oriented mound bed with an original length of perhaps 16 m and a width of 7 m. The mound has now spread to a length of 18 m and a width of 10 m. Most of the surrounding stones seem to have been preserved, but almost all of them have been overturned or relocated and it cannot be ruled out that some stones are reading stones that were brought here in a modern way . In the middle of the bed is the burial chamber , which is a north-east-south-west oriented passage grave with a length of 4 m and a width of 1.5 m. Originally it was probably completely enclosed by the mound. There are two wall stones on the north-western and four on the south-eastern long side as well as two end stones on each of the narrow sides, all of which are still in situ . At least two wall stones are missing in the middle of the northwest side. Of the original four cap stones, only one remains, which fell into the interior of the chamber. The access to the chamber is located in the middle of the south-eastern long side. In front of it is a corridor with a pair of wall stones and a shifted cap stone. The corridor is 0.5 m wide.

Grave 2 (2020)

Grave 2

The complex has an approximately north-south oriented mound bed with an original length between 18 m and 20 m. Due to severe disturbances in modern times, the mound poured apart into an irregular shape 26 m long and 17 m wide. There are still numerous surrounding stones, but none of them are in situ. The burial chamber is a north-west-south-east oriented passage grave, probably of the Holstein chamber subtype , with a length of about 6 m and a width of at least 1.5 m. Your floor plan appears to be slightly trapezoidal. The wider end is in the southeast. Several chamber stones are still preserved, but most of them have been relocated and cannot be assigned more precisely. Only three stones standing in situ can be identified as wall stones on the north-eastern long side, and another as wall stone on the south-western long side. The original access to the chamber was located between the northern and the central stone on the northeast side. A corridor with a pair of wall stones is in front of it.

Numerous additions were found in the backfilling of the chamber in 1933. These included several pottery fragments with depth stitch ornament and two narrow chisel and a thick nackiges hatchet of flint . In one corner of the chamber there were also four spherical amphorae like a nest.
