Great stone grave in Groß Süstedt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave Groß Süstedt was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Groß Süstedt , a district of Gerdau in the district of Uelzen ( Lower Saxony ). It was destroyed in the 19th century. The grave was north of the village, halfway to Stadorf, on the eastern side of today's state road 233. It was surrounded by a group of burial mounds . The large stone grave was documented in the 1840s by Georg Otto Carl von Estorff , but was already destroyed at that time and could therefore not be described in more detail. No information is available on the orientation, dimensions and type of grave.
