The Hohensasel large stone grave is a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Hohensasel , a district of Rantzau in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein . It bears the Sprockhoff number 214.

location

The grave is located north of Hohensasel in the Wurth forest on the site of the Hohensasel training area. There are several other large stone graves in the vicinity : 3 km south-southeast is the large stone grave Sieversdorf and 3 km northwest the large stone grave Rantzau .

description

The complex has a mound that has only been preserved in remains. From the burial chamber only two wall stones, a cap stone and perhaps a threshold stone are preserved. Presumably it was a north-east-south-west oriented (extended?) Dolmen with an entrance in the north-east. The capstone has a diameter of 1.8 m and a thickness of 0.8 m. It has several bowls on its top .
