Great stone grave in Hoikendorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave Hoikendorf was a megalithic grave system of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Hoikendorf , a district of Grevesmühlen in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was destroyed before 1845. The exact location is not known. There is also no information about alignment and dimensions. It had a large barren bed with a stone frame on the long sides. Inside the mound was a burial chamber made up of an unknown number of wall stones and a single large capstone. Ewald Schuldt interpreted this as a description of an ancient dolmen . In the destruction of the plant were several flint - Axes discovered. One was assigned to the Association for Mecklenburg History and Archeology; the whereabouts of all axes is unclear.
