The Lütgendorf large stone grave (also called Lütgendorf-Blücherhof or Hünenkeller ) is a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Lütgendorf , a district of Klocksin in the Mecklenburg Lake District ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It bears the Sprockhoff number 421.

location

The grave is located west of Lütgendorf on a hill that was probably still in the open field well into the 20th century. Today the site is wooded.

description

In 1872, Carl Christoph von Bülow was able to see an impressive complex that had the remains of a stone enclosure, while the mound on the south and west side had already been leveled by plowing. Ernst Sprockhoff found the grave in 1934 in a significantly worse condition. Two wall stones on the eastern long side were still there. Only the middle one was still in situ , another was only half preserved. A wall stone on the western long side had fallen into the interior of the chamber. Two capstones lay dragged around. The burial chamber was oriented roughly north-south and probably originally had four pairs of wall stones on the long sides. A determination of the grave type was not possible with certainty. The chamber had a length of 7.0 m and a width between 1.8 and 2.0 m. There is now only one stone left.
