Great stone grave Niederfinow

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave Niederfinow was a possible megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic near Niederfinow in the district of Barnim ( Brandenburg ). In a deed of donation from the Margraves Otto IV , Johann IV and Waldemar to the Chorin monastery from 1304, mounds made of earth and stone are mentioned between Chorin and Finow, which Leopold von Ledebur and, following him, Hans-Jürgen Beier consider to be an indication of a former large stone grave . Information on dimensions, orientation and type is not available. The time of destruction is also unknown, but it seems to have ended long before the middle of the 19th century.
